So It Begins...

Today is May 1, 2015 and I am finally taking the steps to bring one of my dreams into fruition. Since birth my parents always spoke to me both in English and Spanish and nurtured my curious desire to always want to know more about all things Spanish. As a child I would sit next to my parents as they read newspapers in Spanish and watched the news/TV in Spanish as well. I would ask things like, "how do you say that word?" or "why is it spelled like that?" and they never grew tired of my questions, thankfully. I have always enjoyed improving and practicing my Spanish while preserving my Nicaraguan heritage in my day-to-day life. Now, as an adult, I can continue to share with others in similar ways as those that my parents shared with me. I am very happy to continue to pay it forward.

I currently tutor various students within the Washington, DC area and I find my time with each of them incredibly rewarding and fulfilling. It gives me great joy to see the smiles on their faces when they see, feel, and hear their improvement and I hope that they will continue to learn and appreciate the beauty and richness of the Spanish language. This blog in particular is an outlet for me to share my love for Spanish, as well as my passion for Nicaraguan heritage in particular.

Whether you are learning Spanish or would like to practice the Spanish you already know, all are welcome. I hope that this blog will be a fun and easy forum for everyone. If you were born in the U.S. or not, if you are young or mature, if you plan on traveling to a Spanish-speaking country or not, and whether you have Nicaraguan heritage or not, I trust that you will find this blog enriching.

For anyone who is seeking a Spanish tutor, please feel free to contact me. I keep my fees low because I feel educational pursuits should never break the bank. Furthermore, I offer both one-on-one and group tutoring sessions. For anyone who prefers to meet virtually, I am also willing and able to meet via Skype, Gchat, or FaceTime.

Many thanks for stopping by and enjoy!

Cheers,
Maggie
